Weekend in pictures

The trailhead to the top of Patterson Mountain, a classic Methow Valley hike.  Hey, if a four-year-old can make it, so can grandpa and nana.

We had plenty of company on our wilderness experience, sharing the path with hundreds of gasping runners on a 100k endurance run.  Yes, that's 62 miles in one day.  Guess who had more fun?

After a wet spring, the wildflowers were at their peak.

Lupines

Rock flowers

Arrow leaf Balsamroot flowers
Aspen groves

Spectacular mountain views

John made the final push to the top.  We decided not to summit with the crowds of runners.

We spread out a nice picnic instead.

Views of Patterson Lake on the long descent.

Walking through wildflower gardens.
Happy girls with ice cream treats in Winthrop.

Even time for a first crochet lesson before heading back to Seattle.  Thanks Amanda and Tom for the great weekend!
