Topsy turvy

It was a long weekend of hard work. We pushed, shoved and carried the furniture from both bedrooms into the living room then cleaned out a couple decades worth of dust. Who knew what was living under the bed all this time?  We're camping out downstairs in the guest room until the painting job is finished on Thursday. Hopefully.

Wonder how two senior citizens moved all that heavy stuff?  John bought these very useful furniture sliding pads that made it (almost) a breeze.

And he is good at fitting bulky, odd-shaped objects into small irregular spaces. He must have excelled at geometry at school. I tend to just pile things up. We have a little path through the maze and can even open our dresser drawers.

Well, the inside is mess, but outside all my favorites flowers are blooming-- peonies, iris, alliums and roses.   It was a gorgeous holiday weekend from start to finish and we didn't stray more than 8 blocks from home.  The neighborhood was oddly quiet, I think everyone was off having fun somewhere else.

"Lilies of the field" basking in the sun without a care in the world.
