There's nothing cuter

Than a girl and a pony.  Nova cantered for the first time this week, a big milestone for a young rider.  Notice the bareback pad instead of a saddle?  That's the best way for kids to develop a good, solid "seat."

Ho hum, it's another sunny morning and spectacular weather ahead for the entire Memorial Day weekend. The ferry lines and traffic jams are already forming to get out of town.  It makes a person wonder why bother, when it's so darn nice right here.

Last week a funny friend of mine compared Puget Sound weather to living in an abusive relationship.  Just when you think you can't stand the gloom, rain and cold a second longer, it turns so incredibly beautiful it's like the bad stuff never happened.

We'll be home this weekend but not lolling around relaxing.  We're finally going to bite the bullet and have some work done next week in our little old shabby bedroom.  That means getting closets emptied and furniture out, then sucking up about decade worth of dust. (That would be my job.)  I've already ordered new window blinds and a coat of paint should really freshen things up.

Have a good one!
