Oddity

John bought me this strange little plant at Metropolitan Market. At least I think it's a plant-- it came from Live Trends, a company in Florida that makes "living décor accents."

We looked on their website but didn't see anything like it. It isn't a succulent, air plant, bamboo, money tree, desert rose, cactus, etc. etc. The directions say to water only once a month, so it's some sort of semi-alive thing.

Speaking of water!  We've been watered to the gills here, but now we're headed into the longest dry stretch since September.  It might touch 80 next week, the warmest we've been since last August.  Oh, the roses will be beautiful.  After such a long, dark winter and cold spring, it finally feels like summer is approaching.

We're headed to the Methow Valley tomorrow and looking forward to spending the weekend with Amanda, Tom and our darling girls.  The weather looks perfect for a family hike.  I'll try and check in from the other side of the mountains.
