Actually, she's been (mostly) awake since birth, but now she's beginning to show her little personality. If you've had kids, you'll remember that euphoric stage when you're pretty sure you will soon have Baby on a Schedule. Ha! And like all newborns, your drowsy infant becomes an individual with a definite mind of her own as she figures out her new world.
At 1 am.
At 3 am.
And again, at 6 am!
So if new parenting were reality TV, the third week would be the show :-)
Amanda got out of the house yesterday, and said how good it felt to be seeing friends in town and doing normal things like eating a bagel at the bakery. She and Nova then went to town for a check-up with her new doctor. Nova screamed like a banshee the first time she put her in the car seat, but after one block-- blessed silence! Ahhh...
And at the clinic, Nova charmed everyone by looking around like a good-natured little cherub. Everything is fine-- in fact she has already gained a pound. Good job Amanda and Tom!
