Batten down the hatches

The first dusting of snow in Twisp, but at higher elevation, mountains of snow are piling up already. The North Cascades Highway is closed and may not reopen until spring. Even Snoqualmie Pass was closed last night in both directions, which seems early in the season.

We won't get to see it for a few weeks, but this new door was installed at the house yesterday. It replaced a solid door, and gives more light and view into a dark corner of the living room. Nice.

It's wet and very windy in Seattle today and fingers crossed we get through this storm without power outages. A good day to hunker down, but hard not to spend the entire day eating fattening comfort food! On Sunday afternoon we go downtown to the symphony, so that at least gets us out of the house for a bit.

Have a good weekend.
