I remember in my distant elementary school days during recess we used to play a game called "Spirit of '76" -- we'd all get in a circle and whoever was "it" was in the center. "It" would point to somebody and say "Spirit of '76!." Whoever was being pointed at had to had to pretend they were holding a flag, the person to their left had to pretend they were playing a drum, and the person to their right had to pretend they were playing a fife. If you messed up, you were "it."
“I like trains. I like their rhythm, and I like the freedom of being suspended between two places, all anxieties of purpose taken care of: for this moment I know where I am going.” Anna Funder
