Up and up

Lift #4 open for the summer
And up we went, over 11,000 feet above sea level.
A beautiful day and beautiful views.
One place that actually justifies a selfie.
Queen of the mountain.
King of the mountain.
On the way back to Taos, we stopped to walk over the spectacular (and if you ask me, terrifying) Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. Built in 1963, the span is 800 feet above the river.
This bridge was featured in the Quentin Tarantino cult movie, "Natural Born Killers."
Taos Plaza

We had dinner on the plaza, and things were really hoppin' with free live bands every Thursday night. We sat outside on an upstairs terrace, first blinded by the setting sun, then suddenly drenched with  monsoon rain. We retreated to the bar to eat, and by the time we walked back to the motel, a beautiful evening.

Taos is Art. Dozens of galleries filled with beautiful things.  It's been a special time, but today we must head back to big city of Albuquerque.
