Clouds

The Seattle weather is as gloomy as our mood. We're in an unseasonably cool and rainy period to start the summer.  What a change from last year, when the daily average was 80 degrees, week after week.

There is a old saying that summer begins in Seattle after the 4th of July, but not this year.  Maybe we had our summer in April and May, the hottest months on record.  Anyway, the garden needs the rain, and I can use a break from dragging hoses.

The new steps are finished.  Our carpentress "Jo" was not a fast hourly worker (gulp) but she did a nice job with sturdy, bright, smooth cedar.  What an improvement.

But of course they really showcase all the remaining wabi-sabi wood around the deck.  Projects for another day...
