In like a lion

Nothing ever seems as bad on a warm, sunny day. But the weather is gloomy as the local news in Seattle this week. Grey clouds, chilly wind and those annoying showers that wet your glasses when you cross yet another parking lot searching for hand sanitizer.

Just kidding-- we have plenty of everything, especially soap. But good luck finding a bottle of the stuff in this town. I read this morning about ridiculous price gouging on Amazon, like two 16 ounce bottles of Purell going for $114.

Still, despite being at the epicenter, things are still pretty much business as usual. I played with The Ukes yesterday which was a nice diversion. I'm going to the gym this morning, and plan to work at the store tomorrow afternoon.  Yes, we wash hands a lot.

At the senior center yesterday, it seemed like the oldsters were less concerned than the youngsters about the virus. Long life experience gives a different perspective on such things, or perhaps it just makes you more fatalistic. Like the weather, this too shall pass.

Check out Garrison's column on COVID this week.

March

The month of March
Has just blown in,
To say that Spring
Will soon begin.

March roars in like a lion
With a bluster and a slam!
And tiptoes out gently
Like quiet little lamb.
