July 4th, low tide Alki Beach
I drove to the gym this morning at 7:30 and was pretty much the only one awake in Seattle. Except for woman walking along in a down parka. A chilly morning, with the June gloom pattern hanging on into July. We won't even hit 70 today.
Oh, well, can't complain while much of the country bakes in a steamy oven. And you probably heard about the weird high temperatures up in Alaska.
We drove down to Alki Beach yesterday morning to check out the ultra low tide, had a coffee at Starbucks, then came home for the rest of the day.
There were the usual (illegal) fireworks going off all night in the neighborhood. We live near a school, and the parking lot is a popular staging area for the annoying ones that do nothing but explode with a big boom. Favored by teenage boys, I suspect.
Here's a few sunny pictures Amanda sent from small town Twisp Fourth of July celebrations-
