On the town

We had fun on Saturday.  I tapped the Uber app at 9:30, and the driver was at the house within five minutes.  Seems like there's always an Uber close by these days, even in our suburb.

There are two types of Uber drivers: silent and chatty. I like hearing condensed versions of people's life stories, but this time we got a quiet one.  John said tip him extra, because he didn't have to make small talk on the way downtown. Ha!

Well, the silent Uber driver made good time, to put it mildly.  We were a bit early for the museum, so shared a cup of the best cocoa in the world at Fran's Chocolates.

The Andrew Wyeth exhibit was wonderful.  The museum pulled together hundreds of paintings and drawings through the decades of his career. Some, like the Helga paintings, were familiar. Others, not so much, but they were all beautiful, especially the landscapes.

"You can be in a place for years and years and not see something.
And then it dawns, all sorts of nuggets of richness popping up all over the place.
You've gotten below the obvious."

Andrew Wyeth

After that, we walked through the (always) crowded market...

The line for coffee in front of the original Starbucks stretched a block.  Good grief.

The Pink Door restaurant is hidden away in Post Alley, only recognizable by the "pinkish" door.  We had a table overlooking the foggy waterfront with nice food, nice service.  John had an Italian sausage sandwich, I had a bowl of excellent cioppino.

Lot's of local goodies swimming in there...

A glass of Prosecco at 11:30 am brings a smile...
