Helper elf

This is what Christmas should look like.  Thanks, Amanda for the picture. There's nothing prettier than a Charlie Brown tree decorated by excited little girls.

Speaking of pretty, just look at this weather.  This is the stunning view of Mt. Rainier from Vashon Island yesterday.  We couldn't ride (one of the horses has a foot problem) so we took a drive to the lighthouse at the south end of the island.

We are stuck in an unusual weather pattern for December, with a massive high pressure ridge over the entire West. The downside here is foggy mornings and icy roads. For California and the Southwest, the pattern brings high winds and more dreadful fires.
