Sieg-FRIED

"Wagner's music is better than it sounds."
Mark Twain

So we drove to the Southcenter Mall movie theater this morning, all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, my purse stuffed with water and snacks ready for our six hour Wagner marathon. Oops. Due to the length of the opera, the Met started the live broadcast an hour early. We were late. And you just can't jump right in the middle of some endless aria. So we decided to skip this one and headed back home. I have chores, and there's always football. And it is a beautiful sunny fall day in Seattle. Too nice to spend in a movie theater, and tomorrow the days will suddenly be darker and shorter.

All is not lost for the culture vultures because we still have symphony tickets for tomorrow. On the program? An hour long symphony Bruckner wrote as a tribute and memorial to guess who? Richard Wagner. We can't get away from the guy. Have a great weekend!
