It might hit 50 degrees in Seattle tomorrow. Won't that feel nice after the freezing end to January.
We had a Margherita pizza last night with a homemade crust that actually turned out OK. Making crust (any kind) is really not my thing. And it's one of the trickier pizzas because it has so few ingredients and each one counts, especially the fresh mozzarella cheese. A watery cheese ruins the entire thing.
This popular pizza is a money-maker for the restaurants. It's just a few dots of cheese with a smear of sauce on a cheap piece of dough. That will be $20 please plus tip.
But if you make it generously at home and everything comes together, this is a wonderful thing. The potted basil from Trader Joes is still only $3.50? A real bargain in these inflationary times.
Off to the Cafe today. Hopefully I haven't forgotten everything I learned.
