Happy 4th of July

The traffic jams in Seattle will be epic tonight, even by our standards.  There was talk a few months ago of canceling the Lake Union fireworks display when donations fell short, but the Seafair organization stepped up with enough money. So the show goes on as usual.

About 30,000 people will crowd into Gas Works Park to watch, and then try to get home at the same time on the same streets.  We're getting lazy, so our little hide-a-way sounds like the best place to celebrate and eat something American like corn on the cob and barbecued ribs.
