Baubles and expensive eye candy

On our way to dinner in downtown Seattle last night, we stopped at the Traver and Vetri Galleries near the Pike Place Market. Since the Glass Art Society is holding their annual meeting in Seattle this week, the city was overflowing with glass experts, artists and collectors out for the Thursday gallery hop.

Museums of course are strict about photography, but the art galleries don't seem to mind some free publicity for their wares. Since we couldn't afford anything :-) I had fun with my camera. Because of the Seattle glass conference, I think the galleries must have pulled out all the stops for these shows.
Mind-boggling shapes, colors and designs...
Floating glass amoebas...
Tipsy $45,000 vases...
Brilliant $40 water glasses...
Glass swimming ladies...
Glittering baubles from under the sea?
Another interesting something...
Dizzy designs...
But hey! Check out this little hand made masterpiece. Our sister-in-law Rebecca blew it for us at their Columbus glass studio.
