Budding artist

These are some of Nova's pencil sketches and the fashion designs are impressive. Both girls are talented artists, and that's not just Grandma bias. They've always been encouraged with lots of quality art supplies and projects. Nova also makes lovely earrings and perfect miniature clay sculptures.

My own sketchbook has been neglected of late. Now that outdoor chores are done, I'd better revive some indoor hobbies. We get lazy and go into hibernation mode, especially since our usual social activities are gone. Or just so changed, you feel like why bother?

The Ukes for example, meeting weekly again. I cannot sit in that small room without fuming with resentment over the people who remove their masks to sing, in bold defiance of Senior Center policy. So I stopped going.

And volunteering at the thrift store became a heavy experience, instead of the nice social diversion chatting with customers and such.  The masks, the cashier's plexiglass shield, and now pressure to police the (apparently) rampant shoplifting. Call me a coward, but I refuse to confront a thief in a charity junk store. So much for that job.

Anyway, it looks like hunker down time again, at least until we know more about Omicron.
