Named after the Biblical "coat of many colors," this colorful climbing rose changes hue as it moves through the bloom cycle.
Years ago, when we picked it out at the nursery, the snooty rose expert said it was OK "if you like that sort of thing." We did. And we still do.
"They are Not Long"
Ernest Dowson
They are not long, the weeping and the laughter,
Love and desire and hate;
I think they have no portion in us after
We pass the gate.
They are not long, the days of wine and roses,
Out of a misty dream
Our path emerges for a while, then closes
Within a dream.
