After a morning of strenuous thrift store shopping, Amanda and I were starving as usual, and stopped the Mongolian Grill for lunch. It's one of those places where you fill your bowl with noodles and vegetables at the buffet line, and then take it to the grill where they cook while you watch. Nova helped her Nana fill a bowl, pointing and saying "num, num, num." (meaning, yummy) She loves to eat-- everything! Is there a greater joy than watching a baby happily eat?
It's a sad morning, because Amanda is heading out today with her friend Tonya and her son Lucas. They're driving to Vancouver for the weekend, and will take the long way home next week. It's going to be one quiet house. I'm going to miss that sweet little voice saying "Nana" and "Grampa" in the morning. I'm even going to miss climbing over baby gates. Life will be boring without a toy box in the living room. But how lucky we were for the long visit. Thank you, dear Amanda for being here and sharing Nova with us.
