November, ready or not
After a beautiful spooky sunset, we had about 50 trick-or-treaters knocking on the door. The costumes seemed especially cute this year, but maybe that's because the kids weren't covered with ponchos, plastic bags and raincoats. A dry Halloween in Seattle is pretty rare.
Speaking of cute, here's Amanda and the girls out on the town last night with their friends. Twisp throws a big small town bash on Halloween. Most of the activities, including bonfires, are concentrated in the Berger Street neighborhood, which is nice for the parents.
The girls look a bit excited...
Our television is downstairs, so while handing out candy I listened to the World Series game on the radio, which was relaxing and nostalgic. In grade school during recess, I remember crowding around the boys with transistor radios. And what an engaging series, huh? The final exciting game tonight-- and a distraction from the current horrors.
Somehow I managed to keep my mitts out of the candy bowl, but I had a few slices of this little KuchenMeister (Cake Master) Amaretto Liqueur Cake with my tea. Imported from Germany (where they know a thing or two about cake) it was moist and delicious. Of all places, it came from the Cost Plus store in Las Vegas. Not often I would recommend packaged cake, but if you can find it, buy it.
