Dry, sunny days
We stopped at a cactus and succulent nursery outside of Desert Hot Springs, just to window shop. The nice man was positive I could carry something back with me on the airplane. Well, no....besides, Seattle would be cruel and unusual punishment for any these beautiful cactus.
John spotted this hummingbird nest in a cactus right at eye level along a nursery path. The gossamer nest contained two baby hummingbirds with their tiny beaks open. It was amazing. I wish Nova and Maya could have seen it. How did that fragile nest and precious contents survive the windstorms?
We also took a hike at Big Morango Canyon Preserve yesterday. It was a beautiful morning, with hills are carpeted with flowers from the desert super bloom going on right now.
This morning we are packing up camp and headed down to Palm Springs for our last two nights of vacation.
