I took this picture with my new camera and then "enhanced" it on Photoshop-- as if such a perfect rose needed dolling up. And now it looks like it should be on a Hallmark card. Or as my friend Candi would say, in a flower porn magazine!
On the other hand, these strawberries look beautiful but taste like tap water. Really. It must have been all the rain. On the other side of the mountains, apricots are at half the usual production and peaches and nectarines are down too. Although the ones I bought were tasty, everything is late after the long, hard winter. I didn't plant any vegetables in the ground this year, but it's a banner year for flowers. And water-swollen strawberries.
We're in a beautiful stretch of weather now, and have a busy weekend ahead. Amanda and Nova arrived in Seattle last night and we'll all be going to a big wedding together-- I can't believe Nova could get even cuter each time we see her, but she does. It melts my heart when she runs around asking, "where's my Nana?" Hope your summer weekend is perfection, too.
