It is such an incredible joy being here with Amanda and Tom for Nova's first days. And I can tell you Grandma has been very busy! Today is a cooking day to get chili, soup and pasta sauce in the freezer for later. And a good day to stay home-- the weather is cloudy with a little rain but pleasantly warm.
Yesterday Amanda's loving and sweet midwife came to the house again to check on both of them and tell us what we already know-- Nova is a beautifully healthy and thriving newborn. She is having a bit of trouble with the "day/night" thing :-) so the new parents were a bit bleary eyed this morning but all is well. Amanda is getting stronger everyday, and if she is up for it we'll give Nova her first bath this afternoon. We are all madly in love with this baby, and she is a real charmer, already alert and curious about her new world.
Congratulations everyone! What a beautiful child! It's going to be hard to stay away form Twisp!!!

Thanks for posting these beautiful pictures of Nova Blue. I can feel your joy through your written word.
ReplyDeleteI rode Sizzle tonight...she might just be a night owl. She was relaxed and willing. We trotted around in figure eights and she even worked up a bit of sweat.
